Extra! Extra! Tink All About It: Universal Orlando Ups Parking Rates and Annual Pass Prices

Good afternoon, Tinkers!

Hope you're all making it through Tuesday just fine!

Universal Orlando has today announced increases in their parking fees and their Annual Pass pricing. Since Universal almost always follows suit with whatever Disney is doing with their rates, this is not a surprise to most Guests.

As of today, parking has gone from $17, up to $20, (same as Disney), with Preferred Parking going from $22 up to $25. The Power Pass for Florida Residents, (includes block out dates), has gone from $189 to $215. The Preferred Pass, with NO black out days, has gone from $259 to $300. The monthly payment option is still available for both passes.

Tinkin' About... Back to Hogwarts Day!

Good Morning, Tinkers!

Not sure if the Muggles are aware of this, but today is Back to Hogwarts Day! School starts up every year on this day for us witches and wizards. In honor of this special day, I thought I would take you all on a mini-photo safari of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
If you're a Harry Potter fan and you haven't gotten there yet, you MUST plan a trip as soon as you can! It's more "right out of the movie" than almost ANY other land I have experienced in a theme park, (the one exception being Carsland in California Adventure). You truly get to see what it's like stroll the streets of Diagon Alley, to ride the Hogwarts Express, and to arrive in Hogsmeade. Then you even get to explore the interior of Hogwarts Castle, as you wind through the queue of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.
Now, in all honesty, I have yet to ride any of the rides. Partially because I haven't been there at times when it was convenient to do so, and partially because I am a scaredy cat. I know, Booooooooooo! I'm working on it, ok? In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this photographic trip into Harry's world. Oh, and safe travels back to Hogwarts today! I think I hear the Hogwarts Express coming, so you better head on out to Platform 9 3/4 and be ready! Have a great year!

Extra! Extra! Tink All About It!: Halloween Horror Nights

Good afternoon, all you you scare fanatics!

Universal Orlando has officially announced the details of the 2015 Halloween Horror Nights events. This year will mark the 25th anniversary of the event, and they are bringing back some of the "greatest hits" of past years.

Now, as some of you know, I can give absolutely NO personal experiences from this event, since you couldn't pay me enough to attend, but there are millions of fans of haunted houses and in-your-face horror that will be delighted by this year's line up. There are 9 haunted houses, which is more than there have ever been. The heart-attack inducing options are:

- An American Werewolf in London
- Jack Presents 25 Years of Monsters and Mayhem
- Body Collectors: Recollections
- Asylum in Wonderland 3D
- Run: Blood, Sweat and Fears
- The Purge
- The Walking Dead
- Freddy Vs. Jason
- Insidious

     The Scare Zones include:

- Psychoscarepy Unleashed
- Icons: HHN
- All Nite Die-In Double Feature
- Evil's Roots
- Scary Tales: ScreamPunk

There will also be two live shows. One features Jack the Clown and is called "The Carnage Returns" and the other is the wildly popular jab at all things pop-culture, "Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure".

That all sounds so exciting to me! (Um, no.) There are 30 event nights, between September 18th and November 1st. For more information, and to buy tickets, click HERE!

Any Tinkers out there love Halloween Horror Nights? Are you excited about this year? Can you share with other readers (who are not babies like me) which houses you like and any "Must Do's"?

Extra! Extra! Tink All About It!: Fast and the Furious Races in to Universal

Good evening, Tinkers!

Some exciting news from Universal tonight for those of you that feel the need for speed. In 2017, Universal Studios Orlando will welcome The Fast and The Furious franchise to the parks with an adrenaline pumping new attraction, Fast & Furious: Supercharged. The attraction will include the chance to check out some of the incredible cars from the movies, as well as take a high speed ride in one yourself. Not much info has been released about the technology that will be used on the ride, but I'm sure we will know more soon.

We do know that to make room for the attraction, Disaster will be closing on September 8th, and Beetlejuice's Graveyard Review will be closing shortly thereafter. Get out and enjoy those two while you can!!! To read the official announcement, click HERE!
